I wanna show you something...

This is what happens when my children are turned loose and allowed to explore on their own. I love it when my children get bored enough to start creating, imagining, and discovering all on their own.

 This creating time quickly turned into a discussion about Sitting Bull. A couple of weeks ago we read a book about Sitting Bull, because my children are really into Native Americans. I was surprised in our discussion by how much they had retained from reading that book!

Another discussion that came up during this creative time was about blood and bones. My son was drawing blood and bones and was surprised to learn that our ears (outer) aren't bones, but cartilage. Science and history come easily with children when you allow them to follow their interests. And guess what? They remember what I tell them! Most of the time, anyways. :) Another successful day at school!
